Authentication
API keys
Create and use API keys to authenticate server-to-server calls.
API keys authenticate server-to-server requests. Treat them like passwords, never expose them in client-side code, mobile apps, or browser-accessible bundles.
Create a key
API access has to be enabled for your organization before you can create a key. Ask your Relu admin (or email support@relu.ai) to enable it.
Once enabled:
- Log in to automate.relu.ai/account.
- Go to Settings → Develop.
- Click New API Key and give it a name. Choose All scopes, or choose Limited scopes and expand a group to select individual permissions. Create the key and copy it. Relu shows it only once, so store it somewhere safe. To rotate it, create a new key, update your services, then delete the old one.
Use it
Two header formats are supported. The X-API-Key form is the recommended default.
import requests
response = requests.get(
"https://api.automate.relu.ai/services",
headers={"X-API-Key": "<your_api_token>"},
)await fetch('https://api.automate.relu.ai/services', {
headers: { 'X-API-Key': process.env.RELU_API_TOKEN },
});The Authorization: ApiKey <token> form is also accepted for compatibility with tooling that expects the standard Authorization header.
